KEY WEST ATTORNEY DARREN HORAN ENTERS SCHOOL BOARD RACE

Key West attorney Darren Michael Horan is running for the Monroe County School Board’s District 1 seat, according to Supervisor of Elections Joyce Griffin.

Incumbent District 1 board member Bobby Highsmith, also an attorney, has said he will not seek reelection, which prompted Horan to run. He is thus far unopposed.

GABRIELLE BROWN IS RUNNING AGAINST DARREN HORAN FOR LOWER KEYS SCHOOL BOARD SEAT

A second candidate will seek the Monroe County School Board District 1 seat in the Nov. 8 election, per Supervisor of Elections Joyce Griffin: Key West mom and bookkeeper Gabrielle Brown. Key West attorney Darren Michael Horan has also announced his candidacy. The current sitting District 1 board member, Bobby Highsmith, told Keys Weekly he will not seek reelection.
